How we build these pages

Every number on the clinic, city, cost and insurance pages is either computed from the directory dataset or quoted from a cited source with the date we read it. Anything we cannot source, we leave out.

Clinic listings

  • The directory holds 1981 US clinic records derived from public records (Google Places data). A listing is unverified until the clinic claims its profile.
  • Counts on state, city and metro pages collapse records that share the same clinic name, so the number shown equals the number of cards listed.
  • Listings whose primary category is a clinic or medical category, and whose name is not an alternative-medicine business, are shown first. This is a display sort, not a quality score.
  • The dataset is refreshed manually. The date above is the last refresh; clinics can open, close or move in between.

City and state pages: thin-page guard

  • A city page is published only when the city has at least 5 unique clinic listings. Smaller places appear on their state page instead.
  • The 10 curated metro pages (for example New York and Miami) include nearby city names only where those strings exist in the data. Cities covered by a metro page do not get a second page.
  • State insurance pages for states with fewer than 5 unique listings are marked noindex and left out of the sitemap.

"Highest Google-rated" blocks

  • We use Google rating and review count from the public record. Only clinic-type listings with a numeric rating and at least 20 Google reviews are considered on city pages (100 on the national page).
  • Order: rating (high to low), then review count (high to low), then name. At most 5 listings are shown per city, and the block is omitted if fewer than 3 listings qualify.
  • This reflects patient review sentiment on Google. It is not a measure of medical quality, safety, price or success rates, and it is not paid placement. It is not an endorsement.
  • Structured data on these pages lists name, address, phone and website from the record. We do not mark up Google ratings as our own reviews.

Cost statements

  • We do not hold a clinic-level or state-level price dataset, and we do not publish estimated ranges.
  • Dollar figures that appear on the cost guides are short verbatim fragments from ASRM / SART patient pages, shown next to the source title, the source's own dating note and the date we read it.
  • Where ASRM, SART or the CDC gave no figure (for example egg freezing, ICSI and donor eggs), the guide says so.
  • Different sources give different figures for the same treatment because they define it differently. We show them side by side rather than choosing an average.
  • Sources used (5):

Insurance pages

We link to ASRM's page for each state's infertility insurance law rather than restating statutes, because details change and plan type (for example self-insured employer plans) affects whether a state law applies. We do not say what any state requires.

What we do not publish

  • Success, pregnancy or live-birth rates for any clinic (see how to read official reports).
  • Clinic prices or treatment price ranges we cannot cite.
  • Medical recommendations, diagnoses or personalized predictions.

Corrections

If you find an error, or you are a clinic and want a listing corrected, use the claim flow or contact us.

Not medical advice. Fertility Listings is an informational directory. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment, predict personal outcomes, or replace a licensed fertility specialist. Talk to a qualified clinician about your situation.
